This time we worked on the outside!! In November 2006, Project Hope was selected for Channel 5's Extreme Makeover: Hometown Edition and in two weeks renovated the interior of the shelter. During the makeover Rebuilding Together Boston, the nation’s largest volunteer organization preserving and revitalizing homes in low-income neighborhoods, went above and beyond to help out Project Hope. They provided volunteers, supplies, construction supervision, and guidance during the project.
Their help didn't stop there. Rebuilding Together Boston selected Project Hope to be one of their sites on National Rebuilding Day on April 28, 2007. In partnership with Gilbane Company and Fidelity Investments, volunteers renovated Project Hope's shelter by painting the exterior of the house, landscaping, and creating a brick patio for summer family fun.
A huge THANK YOU to Rebuilding Together Boston for selecting Project Hope, Gilbane Company for providing the guidance, experience and skills needed to complete this project, and Fidelity Investments for providing enthusiastic, hard-working volunteers.
