PROJECT HOPE MARATHON TEAM

"Running with Hope"

Introducing our 2012 Project Hope Marathon Team

For the second time in Project Hope's history, a team of dedicated and experienced runners will be running in the Boston Marathon. The marathon tradition in Boston represents individuals setting and achieving personal goals, and breaking through barriers for greater triumph. This is the work we do with families every day at Project Hope: we help them believe in their own possibilities. We help them break through the barriers that keep them poor, we foster their journey through personal transformation and celebrate with them as they achieve economic security for themselves and their children.

Our running team symbolizes the struggles of our families with their hard work, dedication and commitment to reaching the finish line. Their journey of 26.2 miles, and all the months of training leading up to it, gives us the opportunity to raise vital funds by connecting to new sources of support.

Funds raised will be applied to the agency's core services: homelessness prevention; adult education and ESOL classes; training and access to jobs that pay career level wages; high quality day care; and providing emergency shelter services and ongoing case management for families in crisis.
