Project Hope wants to tap into the rich reservoir of skills and experience that Corporate Volunteers have to offer our agency. We also know that companies are looking for meaningful volunteer engagements with non-profit agencies. We currently have the following opportunities:
The Speakers Bureau is composed of present and former participants who want to develop their communication skills and use those skills to promote our agency. These women, our Ambassadors, attend ongoing communication workshops and are ready to share their stories publicly, relating just how Project Hope programs helped them attain their educational, career, and financial goals.
What can your company do?
1) Volunteer to lead Ambassadors in a workshop on a communication topic of your choice
Workshops on communication topics such as body language, writing presentations, tone, active listening, conversation skills, etc. are held approximately every 6 weeks, typically on Thursday from 6-8PM or Saturday from 10-12. We are able to add special workshops to this schedule, if needed. Project Hope Speakers Bureau staff will work closely with volunteers to assist in the preparation and presentation of the workshop.
2) Volunteer to host a practice event for the Ambassadors
This is a group volunteer opportunity for 5-15 volunteers that can take place at Project Hope or at another appropriate venue. At the "practice event" your volunteer group will listen to the women’s presentations and engage them with questions in small groups. After the presentations, your group will provide feedback to the women on their public speaking skills. We do ask that, as hosts, you cover any related expenses.
If you or your company are interested in volunteering with the Speakers Bureau, please contact Robyn Eastwood at 617-442-1880 x206 or reastwood@prohope.org.
You can also have an Ambassador as a speaker at your next event or meeting. For more information about booking a speaker, click here.
Every woman who walks into Project Hope is a woman of strength, as she takes the first steps to improve her life. At Project Hope each woman is given the tools she needs to succeed through our education, business enterprise, workforce development, and housing support programs.
In addition to the tools the women receive by participating in our programs, we would also like to provide each woman with an actual tool kit containing all the “tools” she needs to succeed such as an organizer, envelopes, and pens. This will help prepare the women as they focus their attention on achieving their housing, educational and career goals. The goal of these kits is to provide the little things that will help ease these major transitions.
What can your company do?
We welcome Corporate Volunteer Groups to assemble the Life Tool Kits for the women at Project Hope. This is an excellent project for any size group. Your group will organize and finance the purchase of the items as well as assemble the Life Tool Kits. We encourage you to add a personal touch to the kits by adding an inspirational card or message. For a detailed list of suggested items for the Life Tool Kits, please click here.
If you or your company are interested in working on the Life Tool Kits, please contact Robyn Eastwood at 617-442-1880 x206 or reastwood@prohope.org.
