Vonnessa Goode-Knight,
Executive Director

As Project HOPE’s new Executive Director, Vonnessa Goode-Knight brings more than 30 years of experience in management within both nonprofit and public health sectors, most recently as a Program Director at the Massachusetts Department of Public Health. Prior to pursuing a career in public health, Goode-Knight had worked for multiple community-based organizations, including serving as the Deputy Director and Executive Director of the Action for Boston Community Development, Inc.’s Dorchester Neighborhood Service Center and South End Neighborhood Action Program, respectively.

Raised in the neighborhood of Dorchester, specifically the Dudley Street and Uphams Corner area, and receiving her primary and secondary education in a suburb of Massachusetts through the METCO, Inc. program, she witnessed first-hand the socio-economic and educational inequities between the two communities. As a result, she made it her personal and professional life commitment to be an active partner in our Boston neighborhoods that have historically been marginalized while striving to be an effective and inclusive leader.

Vonnessa has earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Northeastern University and Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a concentration in Organizational Leadership from Simmons College School of Management where she also received the Pat Miller Leadership Award.
