A new cycle of HOPE

Project HOPE Boston, Inc.

We partner with women and families in the Roxbury and Dorchester community to improve their housing stability and economic mobility. For 40 years we’ve supported thousands of women who are determined to gain marketable skills, find permanent housing, secure affordable childcare, and work toward their new tomorrow.

Yrmaris's Story

Success Stories

Yrmaris' Story

A Latina woman is holding a black folder and smiling at the camera.

Yrmaris lost her job in 2020 as COVID-19 took hold of our community. Despite earnestly searching for employment during the shutdown, her options were severely limited. After weeks turned into months without income, she could no longer afford to pay rent and was forced to move with her two small children into the small apartment her sister lived in with her own family.

Housing insecurity, crowded living, lack of routine, and other tensions, often lead to feelings of instability and fear. Yrmaris recognized the need for help and reached out to Project HOPE Boston.

Determined to navigate through these adversities, Project HOPE supported Yrmaris with housing and educational assistance while her unwavering resilience and drive to support her family propelled her forward. With the help of Project HOPE's Housing Services team, Yrmaris was able to access available funding to cover her back rent and utilities. This support enabled her to get her family back on their feet.
